Coping with extreme conditions


A Wedding on the lawns of a fine grade 1 listed family house near Bury St Edmunds. We prepared  a complicated special diet menu  using their large rustic kitchen, scullery and other rooms. There were a lot of Gluten intolerant, dairy free and vegan guests.  So the  menu was a special diet menu mainly based around these requirements. With only a few things certain guests could not eat. The fantastic grounds were unfortunately made unusable by unseasonal high winds which caused mass power cuts through out East Anglia. The only way to blend the warm chick peas to make hummus was in the marquee using the generator while the marquee company reattached the marquee to the ground,  an unnerving experience!   We coped with the high winds, guests sheltering from the wind in every access point, and extra last minute special diets detail. A challenging day!
